Entrepreneurship

CNST is uniquely located to harness the entrepreneurial and technical spirit in downstate Illinois, with technology transfer linkages with the University Research Park, the Illinois Technology and Enterprise Corporation-an initiative of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the state legislature, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Industrial linkages have also been established.

A number of startups have been initiated by the campus faculty and students associated with the CNST and the Micro and Nanotechnology Lab.
